The newest addition to our product line is the 8385V ECU Monitor Kit. The first units are available now from the Van Cafe in Santa Cruz CA. This kit contains an assembled & tested 8691V ECU Monitor and Digijet Interface Unit, plus the required additional cables. We chose to utilize the 8691V ECU Monitor to standardize the mechanical and electronic parts for both models*, and adhere to the KISS Theory. We have tested this prototype in our 1984 Digijet Vanagon over the past few weeks, for a total of 1200+ road miles commuting between Capitola and Fremont, and the unit performed flawlessly. * The COIL PULSE LED on the 8385 System will illuminate to indicate FUEL PUMP RELAY activity, which also provides voltage to the IGNITION COIL.

12/3/08 It has come to our attention that two different types of ECUs were installed by VW on 1985 Vanagons. The instructions presently provided in the 8385 ECU Monitor Kit are for the aluminum case (Bosch # 025-906-021). If you have a black plastic case on your 1985 ECU, please contact either us or the Van Cafe, and we will provide you with the necessary information to connect the ribbon cable to the ECU circuit board. Future kits will have instructions for both types.
